Capability layer 2 of 3

Autonomous control actions

Run recipe setpoints automatically, within fixed safety limits that recipes and models cannot change.

Overview

How it fits your operation

At this layer, the active recipe sets each zone's targets and PID control adjusts connected equipment to hold them. Fixed safety limits sit below the control logic. We commission one zone at a time and begin in read-only mode.

Control profiles in BeeGrow AI: PID tuning profiles per crop type for fruiting vegetables, herbs, leafy greens and microgreens, each configured across air temperature, humidity, pH, EC, CO2 and water level.

Why it matters

What changes on site

Setpoints follow the crop

When a crop moves to its next stage, the zone targets change with it instead of relying on someone to update them by hand.

Control that holds a target

PID control adjusts supported climate and dosing equipment towards recipe targets. Lighting uses configured schedules and control channels.

Safety limits stay fixed

Recipes, schedules and model output cannot raise the platform limits for temperature, pH, EC, water level or dosing.

Operators stay in control

An emergency stop takes the zone out of automation and sends stop commands to its dosing, water, CO₂ and HVAC equipment, with ventilation commanded to full. Setpoint overrides record who made the change and the duration intended.

How the safety limits respond. Some limits block a command; others cap its duration or intensity. The PID and actuator-test paths check environmental bounds against available cached readings; a check needs the relevant reading to be present. The platform also limits dose timing and frequency. An overlong dosing pulse or excessive HVAC intensity is capped and then sent. PID safety refusals are recorded with a reason. Scheduled lighting has an application log, emergency stop has an aggregate audit record, and successful actuator-test publication is audited.
